Firstly we want to congratulate Simply For Strings, a Brisbane based string instrument specialist, for their fantastic victory in winning two awards from Australian Music Association (AMA) this week. The awards were for Best Print Promotion and Best Website Design. It was certainly a joint project in creating both of these stand out designs and once again we would like to point out that the more effort you put into something – the more you get out of it. Simply For Strings are always up for something creative, unique and interesting.
Secondly we want to touch on the benefits of interlinking the world of print and web.
If you are using Social Media in your business then you should ensure that you are cross promoting it into your print material. Many companies are only pushing their website or social media elements online when in reality there are a lot of benefits to reminding readers on flyers, brochures, billboards, advertising and stationary. With an increase in the amount of people embracing social media it is the little reminders that motivate further into connecting and interacting with you. Interaction is key – as soon as you have a captive market it is much easier to sell products and services to them.
Simply For Strings recently purchased a double page spread in a music industry publication. Rather than taking the usual ‘sale item’ or ‘here are our products’ angle they pushed a simple message about what they do and then left the simple suggestion that readers should jump to facebook and interact with them. It is human nature to want to share. Taking advantage of that will result in a stronger reaction and get them to the blog, facebook or website (which is always the desired objective). Rather than give the direct Facebook link they are strategic in getting viewers to the website first where some may get side-tracked by the online store or product line before ending up at Facebook to interact. Added incentive never hurts either and it shows that being a “fan” has it’s benefits.
